I am a devotee of Maa Kali and Kalabhairava, and I regularly do their upasana and mantra japa. I have been thinking about wearing a Rundamala (Mundamala) and using it for my japa.

Is it appropriate for a sincere devotee to wear a Rundamala, or is it something that should only be worn by initiated sadhakas under a Guru? Are there any scriptural or traditional guidelines regarding this?

I would really appreciate insights from people who follow Shakta or Bhairava traditions or who have experience with this. Thank you. 🙏
