Is it possible to reach out to people and explain them about tantra and dharma in general to spread the knowledge of the divine?

As per the current situation in the nation, more and more younger generations are leaving dharma for westernised concepts. How can the people be drawn towards shaktism and shaivism as we can see excessive vaishnava outreach has led to this situation in the nation, can we start such movements through social media where we explain people about the shastras properly to create a public outreach?. What are the thoughts of the people in this sub?

How Sarasvatī became Nīlasarasvatī- a rare Tantric myth

The Bṛhannīlatantra has a rather unusual origin story explaining how Sarasvatī became Nīlasarasvatī that is not widely known.

The story opens after a war between the Devas and Asuras. The demon brothers Hayagrīva and Somaka, defeated by Viṣṇu's discus and driven into the ocean, grow frustrated with their loss.

Realizing that fighting the Devas directly isn't working, they decide to strike at the source of their power: the havis (sacrificial offerings) made by Brahmins on Earth through Vedic mantras.

To cut off this divine supply, the demons perform intense tapas to Śabdākarṣaṇī (the power that attracts speech) and ask for a specific boon:

>"Grant us the power to draw away and absorb every sound"

When the boon is granted, speech and mantric power leave the earth. The Goddess Sarasvatī—the very embodiment of speech (śabdarūpiṇī)—is forcibly pulled out from the mouths of priests and scholars.

They drag her down to the subterranean region (pātāla), submerge her in a pit of Hālāhala poison, bind her with serpent ropes, and seal the entrance with mountains.

The Brahmins cannot chant the mantras as they are forgotten, and yajña can no longer happen. Without the sacrifices and havis, the Devas lose their strength.

Viṣṇu then intervenes, assuming the form of the giant Matsya. After a prolonged battle lasting a thousand years, he slays Hayagrīva and Somaka. He finds Sarasvatī submerged in the poison pit, almost lifeless.

After several failed attempts, Viṣṇu finally revives her using a six-syllabled mantra.

Upon waking, Sarasvatī is distraught. Her original moon-white complexion has turned completely dark blue due to her prolonged immersion in the Hālāhala poison pit.

To relieve her distress, Viṣṇu speaks to her, uttering a famous praise on the cosmic dignity of the color Blue (Nīla):

>"Do not grieve, O Mother of Speech! Why view blue as a flaw? The sky that encompasses all is blue; the life-giving rain clouds are blue; Indra, the lord of the gods, is blue. Shiva’s throat, stained by poison, is blue; Mṛḍānī (Parvati) is blue; and I myself, though filled with Sattva, am blue. Just as kohl (añjana) around the eyes enhances the beauty of a woman, this blue tint does not lessen your glory—it crowns it. From this day forward, you shall be celebrated across the three worlds as Nīlasarasvatī."

Sarasvatī subsequently returns to the mouths of the Brahmins, restoring Vedic speech, mantra, and yajña, allowing the Devas to regain their strength.

------------------------------------------------------

A few things particularly stand out in this narrative:

First, the power of speech (Vāk) is shown to be the hidden force sustaining the Devas themselves. This mirrors the core Tantric doctrine of the Mātṛkās (the phonemes)—the understanding that sound and speech are not merely means for communication, but the primary building blocks of the manifest universe.

Second is the nature of the transformation itself. What truly happens to Sarasvatī when she is submerged in the Hālāhala poison pit and subsequently revived? This is something worth pondering.

I recall Shri Rajarshi Nandy ji sharing in one of his videos that the blue lotus (Nīlotpala) held by Mā Tārā represents spontaneous illumination—a rare form of knowledge sometimes called Mahāprajñā. Maybe this could be the true significance of her transformation into blue.

If you found this story interesting, I'd be curious to hear what you thought about it.

Namaste.a genuine doubt.does being a staunch advaitist stop me from reaching devi.for context I find it impossible to pay special or more respect to women like the traditional shaktas prescribe as i as a advaitist was thought that all living things are divine and genders are just a maya

Now my feelings of not paying extra respect to women doesn't come from misogyny or ego.butbi refuse to believe that gender which is pure illusion should command what makes one sacred and what doesn't.now this doesn't mean that iam patriarchal or misogynist.i see no difference between a women and men as a man which is why I feel personally that I shouldn't keep them.on a higher pedastal.i have great bhakti for devi though.but I still refuse to see women as devi because it literally says ya Devi Sarva bhooteshu which means o the godess present in all living beings.and as a advaitist saying that all women are godess i feel I am trying to reduce devi the source of all creation to just a women's godess.and to summarise everything i shun all types of difrentiation or discrimination and has baseline respect for everything.can I continue with this baseline respect for everyone equally without putting either of genders or caste on a higher pedastal and gain devis blessings

Punarnavā : Ancient Pala-styled Painting

Art is a bridge across centuries, and my latest project, "Punarnavā," dives deep into the timeless traditions of the Pala School of Art (8th–12th Century CE) to capture the eternal, cosmic union of Shiva and Parvati.

Spanning seven detailed chapters—from weathered Siddham inscriptions of the Adi Shaktipeethas to celestial hosts, Navagrahas, and classical Ragas—this painting is a synthesis of history, theology, and classical iconography.

I invite you to explore this visual universe and step into the sacred journey with me through the full walk-through video here: https://youtu.be/ASw-3xgUJ50

Kuldevi Beej Mantra and Gayatri Mantra

My kuldevi is Yogeshwari Devi, Ambejogai. I found her nama mantra, her Gayatri mantra and her mahamantra containing beejas. I found out all of this in Rudrayamal Tantra.

Do I have to take deeksha for Kuldevi beej mantra or can I chant that mantra?

Can I chant her Gayatri mantra?

Batuka Bhairava: Approaching Bhairava Through the Form of a Child

When we hear the name Bhairava, we often imagine a fierce and powerful form of Shiva.

And then there is Batuka Bhairava - Bhairava in the form of a child.

There is something very beautiful about this form that I have been reflecting on.

Why the Form of a Child?

When you relate to a child, the relationship naturally becomes more personal.

You talk to him.

You tell him things.

You ask him for help.

You become emotionally connected.

And perhaps this is one of the beautiful aspects of Batuka Bhairava upāsanā.

The sādhaka is not only doing mantra japa as a mechanical practice. Gradually, an emotional relationship with the Devatā can develop.

You begin talking to Baba.

“Baba, please guide me.”

“Baba, help me with this.”

“Baba, I don't understand.”

There is a certain innocence and intimacy in that relationship.

Bhāva Becomes Part of the Sādhana

We often think of sādhana in terms of mantra, counting, discipline and ritual.

All of these have their place.

But there is also bhāva - how you relate to the Devatā.

With Batuka Bhairava, that relationship can become very intimate.

You may find yourself remembering Batuka even when you are not sitting for japa.

You may talk to him during the day.

You may share your happiness, your worries, your mistakes.

The Devatā slowly stops being only something you sit in front of during your formal practice.

There is a relationship.

And perhaps that relationship itself becomes part of the sādhana.

The Child and the Guru Principle

There is another aspect that I find fascinating.

Bhairava is deeply connected with the Guru principle and with the removal of ignorance.

Yet here that principle is approached through the form of a child.

Perhaps this reminds us that the Divine does not always have to be approached through intellectual understanding.

Sometimes the relationship comes first.

You don't need to understand everything before you can speak to Baba.

You simply begin.

And as the sādhana deepens, understanding may come in its own way.

From Form to the Devatā

Perhaps this is one of the beautiful things about Devatā upāsanā in general.

We begin with a form.

We give the Devatā a name.

We repeat the mantra.

We visualize the form.

We develop a relationship.

And slowly, the form can begin to reveal something much deeper.

With Batuka Bhairava, you may begin by seeing a child.

But behind that child is Bhairava.

And perhaps the deeper the relationship becomes, the more one starts to perceive the vastness of the Devatā behind the form.

For me, this is what makes Batuka Bhairava so beautiful.

Not simply the idea of Bhairava appearing as a child, but the possibility of developing a relationship with the Devatā through affection, trust and bhāva.

You don't just remember Bhairava.

You begin to feel that Baba is with you.

Jai Batuka bhairava 🙏

How to get rid of Yakshinis and negative energies.

My guru gave me a general Shakti mantra to chant along with telling me to offer meat to Kateriamman. I was doing vamachara worship as I was told. I was doing japa and worship for a few months and I did a yajna for Kateriamman, which was devotional, looking bad it was missing a few steps but i did it to invoke Kateriamman into my Trishul. I've been giving her meat and all, but I didn't receive any kavacham or purification mantra from my guru, thus all I do is I purify my room with incense smoke, with water combined with gayatru mantra at the entrance of my room, in my whole room and then altar, I also purify the food with water combined with mantras, such as Nama mantras, and her main mantra and end with a mantra of her naivedyam samarpayami. But I've experienced possessions, and when I did cleansings with lemon once, it actually worked. But ever since I started this path, my mother has been having so much bad luck, her foot and legs have been hurting so much, she has gotten minor fevers, troubles with her work assignments, and overall lack of motivation, sleeping problems, waking at random hours, and all but I've tried to help her with cleansings Also, a during this period, a picture frame of our whole family fell and broke at the edge, my sister's Venkateshswara poster fell by itself, my mother's beloved pendent fell from inside her drawer onto the ground. I've stopped doing meat offerings after my parents found out I was and told me to do visarjan of my Kateriamman trishul and so I did. But that same night, my mother dreamt of random dogs coming into our home and pooping everywhere and rolling in that poop. And also she woke up in the middle of the night and dreamt of robbers entering her room in the dark whilst she was awake. I also chatted with a siddha, who told me that I had invited Yakshinis and negative entities into my home and that my mother was suffering Mostly, but that due to my giving others advice on tantra(I gave some people generic Sadhanas), I had taken negativity upon myself, and also that the visarjan did no help since the energy is still here. What should I do?

Doubt in devi bagavath puran

Hi Everyone,

I have few question in devi bagavath puran. At first it is mentioned that devi/bagavathi manifests mainly in 5 different forms.

  1. Durga

  2. Lakshmi

  3. Saraswathi

  4. Savitri

  5. Radha

And then it is also mentioned devi also manifests in mainly three forms:

  1. Mahakali

  2. Mahalakshmi

  3. MahaSaraswathi

My question is why there are 2 different categories? And what is the meaning behind them?

And it is also mentioned that bagawathi durga is the one who created maha kali , maha lakshmi, maha saraswathi and make the godessess wife's of shiva, vishnu and brahma. So here the goddess durga, is she not Parvati? Who is durga mata?

And also during durgama asura vadha, goddess shakambari was given the name durga, the goddess durga here is the same durga mentioned in above?

And in mahishashur vadh episode, the godessess formed with the collective powers of all goddess is also called "mahalakshmi". Does the mahishashur mardini Mahalakshmi here same as vishnu consort Mahalakshmi? And it is never mentioned that ma durga killed mahishashura in texts, but we call mahishashurmardhini as durga and the image of mahishashurmarfini became standard image of bagawathi durga.

And in final chapter, it is mentioned the Mula prakruthi/devi resides in manidweepa. But according to sri vidya ma lalitha tripura sundhari stays in manidweepa. Why the devi bagavath puran didnt mention the name of lailitha devi at all?

Please enlightened me about these doubts. Also please correct me if there are any incorrect information, I wrote this based on my memory on devi bagavath puran I remember.

Bhairava Sadhana: Fear, Anger, and the Things We Keep Avoiding

I've been thinking about Bhairava Sadhana, and one idea keeps coming back to me:

Perhaps the real purpose isn't to become powerful. It's to stop running away from ourselves.

Many people approach Bhairava expecting mystical experiences or dramatic transformation. Those experiences may come, but perhaps they aren't the real point in my opinion.

Bhairava makes you face what you spend your life avoiding.

For most of us, two of the biggest things are fear and anger.

Fear

Fear isn't only fear of death or physical danger.

It can be:

  • Fear of rejection
  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of losing status
  • Fear of what people think
  • Fear of uncertainty
  • Fear of being alone

Sometimes fear hides so well that we call it practicality, caution, maturity, or realism. We convince ourselves we're making objective choices when we're really avoiding discomfort.

Perhaps Bhairava doesn't simply remove fear. Instead, sadhana teaches you to look at fear without automatically obeying it.

>Fearlessness may not mean having no fear.

>It may mean not allowing fear to control your actions.

A person who has never faced fear isn't necessarily brave. Courage may simply be the willingness to move forward despite it.

And Then There Is Anger

There is another uncomfortable aspect of Bhairava Sadhana that is rarely discussed.

Sometimes, anger can actually increase during sadhana.

Things that were buried can suddenly come to the surface. Irritation becomes sharper. Reactions become more intense. Sometimes the anger comes out abruptly—a sudden blast, almost as if something sitting underneath has finally broken through.

It can be confusing.

>"I'm doing sadhana. Why am I becoming more angry?"

Perhaps the sadhana isn't creating a new anger.

Perhaps it is bringing what was already inside us to the surface.

And this is where Bhairava becomes especially important.

The answer isn't to justify every outburst as "part of sadhana." Nor is it simply to suppress the anger.

It has to be seen, endured, understood, and gradually transformed.

Sometimes beneath anger is fear. Sometimes attachment. Sometimes wounded pride or the need to remain in control.

Sadhana gives us an opportunity to see what is actually underneath our reaction.

Sometimes the anger can feel too powerful to handle through our own effort.

This is where surrender becomes important.

>The same Bhairava who brings what is hidden to the surface is also the one who can help the sadhaka pass through it.

Perhaps this is one of the harsher lessons of Bhairava Sadhana:

What needs to be transformed may first have to be seen.

And what is seen is not always pleasant.

The fears we deny.

The anger we justify.

The attachments we defend.

The stories we tell ourselves.

>Perhaps Bhairava's greatest grace is not that He removes every darkness within us.

>Perhaps His grace is that He refuses to let us keep hiding from it.

Om Bhairavaya Namah.

Offered at the lotus feet of my Master.

My Story| Help me make sense of it

First, I would like to introduce myself: I am a 43-year-old Canadian man, married with a 5-year-old daughter. I've never had any contact with the Hindu religion and my knowledge was very limited. I’ve always been a down-to-earth person while remaining fairly open-minded.

A year ago, following a lower back injury, I was doing a binaural meditation where, without understanding why, my fingers formed a mudra (Muladhara) whose meaning I had no idea about. After doing some research, I understood it was for the root chakra, but again, given my limited knowledge, I set that event aside.

One month later, I was using a machine to send electroshocks to my lower back for relief. After an intense and not very recommended use (about 4 hours a day), I did a long 2-hour binaural meditation and suddenly felt my spine fill with a truly intense energy. Shocks of energy continued for long periods, several times a day, accompanied by a state of mind I could describe as ethereal.

Just like during the mudra episode, I researched and started reading about Kundalini. I admit I was scared, and the stories I read were worrying. Being a family man, I couldn't see myself heading toward a future as a monk. The image and what I read about Kali upset me, frightened me, and obsessed me, but I eventually set all that aside, telling myself it wasn't necessarily a Kundalini awakening.

However, this month, after more meditations (it’s a practice I continue to do several times a week), I decided to read more about Shakti. I stumbled upon the image of Lalita, which deeply moved me. I decided to try to get closer to her without knowing what that entailed. I felt she represented a more approachable face than Kali, whose name I was afraid to even pronounce.

I didn't sleep much that night, but around 4:00 AM, I saw a round, highly textured form appear. I let out a scream of fear and surprise that woke my wife. Not knowing how to explain what I had seen, I told her it was nothing. It was only the next day that I realized it was a Rudraksha.

I decided to visit a Hindu temple in my city of Montreal, and although I found it fascinating, I felt lost and without points of reference. Still, I prayed to Lalita in my own way, but a significant event occurred in my family that removed my own mother's mask, making me realize she didn't love me very much and saw me more as a tool. This event made me lose a piece of my identity, especially since it was something I had never perceived before.

Yet, this didn't resemble what I was reading about Lalita, but rather Kali. Now I wonder if I should accept everything and go toward Kali, go toward Lalita, or simply go to the hospital. Can anyone here help me make sense of this?

Tree of Sorrow 🌼 : The flower you’re only allowed to collect after it falls

Waking up to a hand full of freshly fallen Parijat blossoms is one of my favorite morning rituals.

Do you guys know there is story which says Princess Parijaat fell in love with the Sun God, but couldn't bear his intense heat. When she perished, this tree grew from her ashes. Because she still can't face the sun, the blossoms open only at night and at the very first touch of dawn, before the sun can look at her, she sheds every single blossom like tears.

Because of her heartache, these fragile white blossoms with their vibrant orange stems are considered pure only after they have surrendered to the earth.

Softest scent in the world, born from a celestial heartbreak. 🧡🌸

Disclaimer! Just a oral story This version is folklore only but it is one of the most romantic stories associated with the flower.

My situation with Kateriamman

For context I am 15 years old and was initiated by my Nana(maternal grandfather) into Kateriamman tantra.

I had set up a Goddess in my room and had been worshipping Her for a while. I was doing Her mantra japa and offering Her meat as my guru had instructed. I have diksha and shaktipatha, and after a few months of practice, I started noticing signs, experiences of possession, and a growing steadiness during my mantra japa.

Then one day my parents found out I was offering meat to Her. They got really angry and told me to immerse the idol, get rid of my malas, and stop everything related to Her worship. They said if they even heard me chanting Her name again, they would throw me out of the house.

They believe this kind of worship attracts spirits and demons, brings generational karma, and can lead to accidents, bad luck, illness, and even death. They also told me that the Goddess would eventually demand meat, blood, and flesh from me personally—including my own—and even sex, and that continuing this path could lead to possession and me harming my sister.

I don’t believe any of that. From my experience, Kateriamman has protected me and my family many times, even if my parents don’t see it that way. At the same time, when they fall sick or face problems, they sometimes ask me to pray to Her to help them. But afterward, they also mock Her, and I end up asking Her to forgive them.

This whole situation has left me feeling really broken and confused about what to do with my life. I’ve felt empty, even though I still feel like the Goddess has been trying to comfort me.

I had also made vows to Her, but because of my family situation, I had to let them go. In a moment of panic and fear, I said I was ending everything related to Kateriamman and Her worship just to keep my family safe. I now regret saying that and feel like I’ve lost the Goddess, along with all the things I used for worship.

I pushed through fear, desire, anger, and ego to keep up my sadhana, and it really hurts to feel like everything has suddenly been taken away. I don’t know how I’m supposed to continue spiritually without my shrine, malas, vows, or the ability to practice openly.

Right now I’m just trying to figure out what I should do next—both spiritually and in my personal life—without putting myself or my family in danger.

What should I do

I keep jumping between Bhagwanas.

Hey!

So, here's the thing— I started off as a Ganpati worshipper, then became a Rama Bhakt, and then a Krishna bhakt. For the first two, I am confused between it being a choice of my heart against me liking their idols.

For Krishna Bhagwana, I did want to worship him and that came from inside me.

But for the past few months I have been feeling a pull towards Kali Ma. I want to engage in her worship but I also know I am not capable of it.

Now I am stuck between worshipping Ganpati, Rama, and Krishna, while feeling a strong pull towards Ma Kali, which has left me feeling really confused and frustrated. And the pull towards Ma is far too strong because I'm queer and I feel like only she will accept me for who I am, no one else.

Please help me figure out why this is happening to me, and what is the right course of action that I should take!

Devi Jagadamba 🚩

Meeting the Mahavidyas: "Maa Matangi" For the Ones Who Never Felt They Belonged.

This article is : For Those Who Fear Being Their True Selves.

For the Rejected, the Misunderstood, and the Authentic

For the Heart That Refuses to Pretend

For Every Soul That Was Told to Stay Quiet

For the Silenced Voice and the Hidden Self

For Those Who Fear Being Their True Selves.

🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️

She presides over the throat chakra (visuddhi) and controls the delivery of speech. She also governs Sarasvati nadi, which extends from the Aggya chakra to the tip of the tongue and bestows the abilities of foretelling.

The Outcaste Goddess, ruling speech, music, and inner wisdom. She is the Tantric Saraswati, but unlike the Vedic Saraswati who embodies purity and refinement, Matangi resides beyond convention, and control. the heavenly outcast who bestows blessings on people who live genuinely, express their inner truth, and embrace whatever that society deems unworthy, insufficient, or unattractive. (ft. Uchistha Chandalini form)

Matangi is the Goddess of inner and outer expression. She governs:

  • Vak siddhi (perfection of speech)
  • Mantra shakti (power of words)
  • Divine intuition and learning

In tantric understanding, she is the power of sound (Nada) that bridges the formless into form. She blesses those who are ready to let truth flow through them especially artists, musicians, writers, and seekers who wish to live their Dharma without fear of rejection.

She is also the Goddess of marginal spaces. The forest, the outcaste, the rebel, the voice unheard. Her energy flows freely in those who dare to break norms to speak and live in authenticity.

Syamaladaṇḍakam, one of the finest compositions of great poet Kālidāsa, calls her as Syamala. Lalita Sahasranama (10) makes reference to Maa Syamala. Mata मरकर्श्यामा मार्ङ्गी मदशाक्षलनी॥ mata marakatasyama matangi madasalini || (verse 3 of Syamaladandakam) This means “Mother, who is dark as emerald (gemstone), who is the daughter of sage Matanga is rapturous.”

FORMS OF MAA MATANGI:

  1. Ucchistha Chandalini : represents Divine Presence in what Society rejects. (most fierce and fast responding Deity- strictly under guidance.
  2. Raja Matangi : Divine administration under Maa Tripura Sundari
  3. LaghuSyama (Shymala): Gentler form of Maa matangi
  4. Vasya Matangi: Worshipped for control over emotional state (esp. for people going through intense mental turmoil, wrong habits, etc.
  5. ,etc.........

Note: Maa Matangi Sadhana must be done under someone who knows maa ( a sadhak or a guru).

She represents vaikhari (Vaikhari is the fourth and final form of sound in its evolution. This is the state wherein the sound is heard. This is called vaikharīibecause the sound is produced by a modified form of prana called vaikharī. This is the stage which is called aparā or non-supreme stage in the evolution of sound, where there exists fully developed materialization, combined with time and space, the components of maya.

[ 1) Para: The deepest level and Unmanifest sound. Pure consciousness before thought even starts.

  1. Pashyanti: The "seen" sound Where intention and vision first form together Before words are created.

  2. Madhyama: Mental Sound. Thoughts gets structured but still not expressed.

  3. Vaikhari: The Final Outer expression. ]

It is said that will (iccha) forms the basis of speech to finally merge with consciousness. The other three stages of sound are para, pashyanti, and madhyama; the last one being vaikhari.

The important difference between Sarasvati and Matangi is that the former is related to materialistic and scriptural knowledge, whereas Matangi gives inner knowledge to know the Self. In other words, Matangi dissolves all dyads and triads, leading to the unveiling of maya. She also imparts the highest spiritual knowledge: "Nothing is good and nothing is bad," as Brahman is omnipresent. Since she is considered as Shyamala, she also controls all mantras.

She is Ucchiṣṭa, meaning “ritually impure” and therefore has very few rituals associated with Her. There are no qualifications required, in order to seek Her grace. All that She requires from the devotee is pure devotion and nothing else! In terms of symbolizing the intellect behind the entire creation and guaranteeing its continuation through the laws of karma, life, death, and reincarnation, among other things, she is none other than Śrī Lalitā Herself. She is the Creation's supreme ruler, and everyone must submit to her. She is the exact substance and content of all sentient beings as well as the insentient matter, energy, and cognition, and she never changes. She truly is the Parabrahman!

Mantrini, the Divine Mother, is the source of all mantras and their results. She can conjure anything, and she will never let her true devotees down. Sri Rajashyamala is the Divine Mother Sri Lalita's intellect, understanding, and all of her subtleties. Similarly, Varahi is the activity and implementation.

Sri Raja Matangi, also known as Sri Raja Shyamala, serves as the Chief Advisor (Mantrini) of Sri Lalita Tripurasundari. In traditional depictions, She is seated on the left side of Sri Lalita Devi, while Sri Varahi Devi is seated on Her right.

From the perspective of Kundalini Yoga, Sri Lalita represents the Sushumna Nadi, the central spiritual channel corresponding to the spinal cord. Raja Shyamala or Raja Matangi represents the Ida Nadi, the left subtle channel that runs alongside the spine. This channel connects to the left nostril and is linked with the right hemisphere of the brain, symbolizing creativity, artistic expression, intuitive wisdom, scientific understanding, and logical thought.

Sri Varahi represents the Pingala Nadi, the right subtle channel that also runs parallel to the spine. It connects to the right nostril and is associated with the left hemisphere of the brain, signifying action, movement, implementation, and all forms of physical activity.

In this way, Sri Raja Shyamala embodies intellect, wisdom, discernment, and subtle understanding, while Sri Varahi represents the power to act, execute, and manifest. Together, they complement Sri Lalita, the central divine force represented by the Sushumna Nadi.

Direction and Yantra

Direction : West (symbolizing fulfilment, maturity, and expression)

Yantra : The Matangi Yantra is used in practices for:

  • Gaining mastery over communication, writing, public speaking.
  • Overcoming fear of judgment and accepting oneself in complete totality.
  • Unlocking creative and intuitive flow.
  • It can also be done by students, performers, and spiritual teachers, Siddhas, etc.

Spiritual Impact of Matangi Sadhana

With sincere worship, Matangi grants:

  •  Ability to attract everyone, develop creative and artistic abilities of the highest grade. Mastery over speech, logical deduction and all sciences and knowledge.
  • Clarity and courage in self-expression, lies and taboo things holds no place. One accepts things as part of this grand maya and still tries to rise above the same.
  • Removal of speech defects or fears of public speaking.
  • Mastery in arts, music, and language.
  • Connection to higher inspiration and authentic dharmic living, Siddhis and ability to commnd.
  • Deepening of voice, people wants to hear the sadhakas of Maa Matangi. Yet thek know what they are speaking is itself Maa Matangi's grace.

She is particularly powerful for those who are spiritually gifted but socially silenced, she blesses the seeker with a fearless, dharmic voice, and guides them further into sadhana.

Matangi and Planetary Influence

Matangi governs the Sun (Surya). The planet of ego, authority, and expression. Her sadhana helps:

  • Transform ego from conceit to genuineness.
  • Resolve concerns about rejection, visibility, or self-expression.
  • Address Sun-related doshas, such as identity crises, insufficient immunity, and poor leadership.
  • Develop your literary, musical, and artistic talents
  • She transforms repression into free expression and pride into brilliant self-confidence.
  • To obtain all types of knowledge and excel in all academic fields.

After Bagalamukhi’s silencing power, Matangi comes to restore speech. But this time purified. No longer reactive or egoic but guided by inner truth. She is the voice of the Self, spoken through a clear, fearless channel.

Matangi invites you to ask: Can you express the true song of your soul, even if the world doesn't approve?

Disclaimer:
Planets are part of creation, while the Mahavidyas are the cause of creation itself. Worshipping a Mahavidya doesn't just address a planetary problem, it connects the sādhaka to the primordial Shakti-intelligence from which the planetary force itself started.

Each Mahavidya is a complete expression of Śakti. They rules the entire cosmos. But like water finding a crack, her shakti flows most readily through the channel (nadī or graha) she is resonant with.

For Maa Matangi: the Sun is her fastest entry point - ability to attract everyone, develop creative and artistic abilities of the highest grade. Mastery over speech, logical deduction and all sciences and knowledge. These manifest quickly in sādhana. But her deeper work reorganizes the entire chart over time.

Worship Mahavidya whose assigned planet is afflicted in your chart to get the fastest, most visible result, but she is not confined there.

NOTE: Initiation into Maa Matangi mantras or Sri Vidya is highly recommended. There are high potent mantras and initiation is strongly suggested for her Sadhana.

Jai Maa Uchistha Chandalini Jyestha Matangi 🦜🎶

Meeting Batuka Bhairava: Why Every Sadhaka Needs Him First

Vatuka (meaning: a child) is the correct form (from the Sanskrit root), but over time common usage/pronunciation drifted it into Batuka and that's the version that caught on and spread. He is described as Vyapaka swarupa, able to take a cremation-ground form or a gentle domestic (saumya) form as the situation requires.

Batuka Bhairava is in the form of a young celibate and hence he helps to curb lust in a very strong manner so he is also the best deity to invoke when doing sadhana of some devi forms where lust can develop when sadhana increases.

Skanda Yamala Tantra: “Worship of Guru, Ganapati, Batuka are of utmost importance for attaining perfection in Shakta Tantra.”

Batuka Bhairav has gunatraya svarupavan (having the nature or form of the three gunas ): 1) Satvic   2) Rajasic  3) Tamsic forms.

In Sadhana, we accumulate lots of energy which is food for physical and extra-physical beings so it attracts beings wanting to steal our energy and Batuka Bhairva has full control over such entities and hence he is the best deity for every household for protection from negative energies of all kinds.

Origin Story:

  1. At one point the universe was basically crawling with all kinds of beings - Bhutas, pishachas, vetalas, kushmandas, yakshas, rakshasas, kinnaras, gandharvas, grahas, the whole spectrum, some divine, some semi-divine, some straight-up demonic. These weren't random either they'd organized themselves into camps under different devatas basically each group functioning as ganas serving their respective deity.

Their whole thing was stealing the japa phala [ the fruits/results] of sadhakas' practice. So people doing serious spiritual work would put in the effort and these entities would just steal the results.

वेतालाद्या महादेवि जपपूजादि हारकः
vetaaladyaa mahaadevi japa-poojaadi haarakah

तेषां विनाशनार्थाय भक्तानुग्रहणाय च
teshaam vinaashanaarthaaya bhaktaanugrahanaaya cha

वटुको अयं महेशानि महाकाल्या विभावितः
vatuko ayam maheshaani mahaakaalyaa vibhaavitah

O Great Goddess, vetalas and similar beings {pishachas, pretas, and other lower spirits} steal away the fruits of japa, worship, and other spiritual practices. Even when you're doing your sadhana sincerely, these beings can quietly rob you of the results. So for the destruction of these obstructive forces, and for the grace and protection of devotees, this Vatuka, O Maheshani, has been manifested by Mahakali.

Batuka Bhairava has the collective Tejas of innumerable Yoginis, 64 bhairava and mahavidyas. The 36 universal principles (tattvas) and 118 realms of existence (bhuvanas) are contained in his body.

  1. Maa Kali's rage during the battle with Raktabija spirals completely out of control. She's started slaughtering everything, even the gods were terrified to approach her. Shiva doesn't confront her as a warrior or a husband. Shiva becomes a child and the moment Maa Kali sees a crying baby in front of her. She picks the child up, nurses him and the rampage simply ends because a completely different part of her got activated i.e. vatsalya bhava. So Batuka Bhairva is the son of Maa Kali and he helps to  accelerate progress in Mahavidya sadhanas. Batuka Bhairava is a form of Shiva Himself.

Maa Ugra Tara gave him a snake as his sacred thread. Maa Chinnamasta handed him a skull-bowl and Maa Kali granted him mastery over time itself. Together these three goddesses also gave him a trident (represents mastery over the physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of existence), making him the presiding force over their combined shakti. A band of siddhas took the form of nine dogs just to serve him. He has rulership over all the grahas hence Batuk Bhairav is worshipped for relief from challenges associated with Rahu, Shani (Saturn), and Kaal Sarp Dosha

Benefits of Worshipping Batuka Bhairava:

Removes fear, rescues us from diseases and adverse health conditions. Dispels black magic and all types of spells and spirits.

There's another name for him too : “Aapaduddharak” - "the one who rescues you from calamity." It comes from a separate origin story where he takes on and destroys a demon called Aapad, freeing the gods from years of torment. That's part of why devotees turn to him specifically when things go sideways .i.e. sudden trouble, fear, obstacles that come out of nowhere.
The head of the family should definitely worship him as he enables one with dharma, artha, kama and moksha. He enables the head (mukhiya) of the family to have financial stability. In his Mahabatuka Bhairava form protects devotees from the Karmic poisons acquired over our countless lifetimes.

The most significant is that he instils us with a child-like innocence that is later useful while doing Mahavidya Sadhana

He helps to build an “adhara” (foundation) : the capacity of mind and body to actually hold a deity's energy; without it, even a deity's genuine, full-force appearance will cause a nervous breakdown rather than transformation.

Dogs are traditionally associated with Bhairava that represents fierce loyalty, vigilance, protection, and fearlessness. The child form also reminds devotees that true spiritual strength can co-exist with humility, innocence, and compassion.

Thank you Batuka for everything, especially for giving this opportunity to write about you. You have always been my greatest support and thank you for the tears while writing about you.
