🔱 Tryambakeshwar jyotirling... Darshan 🌼👁️🌼🪔☘️🕉️🫸🏻🫷🏻
🌿Trimbakeshwar is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas, located about 28 km southwest of Nashik in Maharashtra, at the foot of the Brahmagiri mountain .
🌿This temple is unique because its lingam has three faces, representing the Hindu trinity: Lord Brahma (the Creator), Lord Vishnu (the Preserver), and Lord Shiva (the Destroyer) .
🌿 The current temple structure was built between 1755 and 1786 by Peshwa Nanasaheb, constructed from black basalt stone in the Nagara style of architecture .
🌿 Trimbakeshwar is the source of the holy Godavari River, which originates from a spring at the top of the Brahmagiri Hill and is considered the "Ganga of the South" .
🌿 According to legend, Sage Gautama performed penance here and brought the Ganges down to earth as the Godavari to wash away his sin of accidentally killing a cow .
🌿The town of Trimbak is one of the four locations in India where the grand Kumbh Mela (Sinhastha Fair) is held every twelve years, drawing millions of devotees .
🌿A natural and unique feature of this temple is that water constantly oozes from the top of the Shivalinga, and the lingam is believed to be slowly sinking into the earth .
🌿The temple is famous for performing specific powerful rituals, including the Kalsarp Dosh, Narayan Nagbali, and Tripindi Shraddha pujas, to cleanse karmic imbalances and pacify ancestral souls .
🌿The water used in the temple's Abhisheka ritual is believed to possess medicinal properties that can cure various diseases .
🌿Trimbakeshwar holds deep significance in the Nath yogic tradition; it is believed that the great yogi Guru Gorakhnath performed advanced meditation (sadhana) in a cave near the temple .
