🚩Mahalaxmi Temple, Dahanu is a prominent pilgrimage destination located near Vivalvedhe village along the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway (NH-48) in Dahanu Taluka, Palghar district, Maharashtra.

'शिव' शब्द का अर्थ है 'कल्याणकारी' तथा 'चेतना'। शास्त्र सम्मत दृष्टि से शिव संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड के अधिष्ठान हैं। शिवार्चन का मूल अर्थ अपनी क्षुद्र चेतना (जीव) का परम चेतना (शिव) में समर्पण है।

शिवलिंग के पूजन का शास्त्रीय स्वरूप व्यक्त और अव्यक्त का मेल है:

अव्यक्तो लिङ्गरूपी च व्यक्तः स्यात् परमेश्वरः।

लिङ्गवेदिउमा देवी लिङ्गं साक्षाच्च महेश्वरः॥

🕉️अर्थ: अव्यक्त (निराकार) परमेश्वर शिवलिंग के रूप में व्यक्त (साकार) होते हैं। शिवलिंग की वेदी भगवती उमा (प्रकृति) हैं और शिवलिंग स्वयं साक्षात महेश्वर (पुरुष/चेतना) हैं। अर्थात शिवार्चन प्रकृति और पुरुष के अनन्त संतुलन की पूजा है।
