Occupant inside
I’ve had my 2025 Volvo EX90 Ultra since February 2025, and overall it’s been a great vehicle. Other than two 2GHCA replacements, I really haven’t had many software issues.
The one bug that continues to drive me crazy is the random “Occupant remaining in car” alert. It’ll think someone is still inside after I get out, so the climate system keeps running. That’s less than ideal when I’m leaving the car for a few hours to play golf and come back to find it has been conditioning an empty vehicle.
The frustrating part is how inconsistent it is. I do have a rear-facing child seat in the second row, so I’m wondering if that’s contributing to it.
The only workaround I’ve found is opening both the driver’s and front passenger’s doors before walking away. Sometimes that clears it. Other times I have to manually turn off the climate and enable occupant locking.
At this point I’m not even sure I’m looking for a fix. I’m mostly wondering if anyone else is dealing with this, or if it’s just me.
