He left me and said that "I deserve better" as an excuse
(F22) Tell me I’m not the only one.
My ex told me about all the bad experiences he had in past relationships. He told me how badly his ex treated him, and I thought, “Okay, I’ll treat him the best I can.”
And guess what? He started to get distant and cold and when I asked for confrontation, he told me that I was overwhelming and that I deserved better. I’m not proud of it, but I begged him to stay. He didn’t want anything to do with me anymore.
I sent so many messages explaining how hurt I was, how badly I was doing, and how much I wanted him back so we could make things work. But he ignored everything. All he cared about was himself.
What hurts the most is that he’s becoming exactly like the ex he always complained about to me. He’s no better than her.
I’m so tired of trying in relationships. I’m genuinely heartbroken right now. I saw his reposts, and he acts like some miserable victim who’s always the one getting dumped and hurt, when he literally left me without even feeling guilty about what he did to me.
I never wanted him to do more than he could. I just wanted him to be himself.
I don’t think I could ever date again. But if I ever do, I’ll try my best not to hurt someone the way he hurt me. Just because I was hurt doesn’t mean I need to make someone else feel the exact same pain.
