Hi everyone,
I’m a newer BCBA and one area I still don’t feel very confident in is parent training/caregiver coaching. I’ve completed a handful of CEUs on the topic, but I still feel like I haven’t had enough in-depth training or mentorship to feel fully prepared implementing it consistently and effectively with families.

I would really love to hear how other BCBAs built confidence with parent training over time. Did your confidence mainly come from experience, mentorship, specific CEUs/courses, modeling from other clinicians, books, etc.?

I also sometimes struggle with balancing being supportive and collaborative while still giving clear feedback and recommendations to caregivers.

If anyone has resources, trainings, podcasts, books, templates, or general advice that helped you, I’d really appreciate it. I want to improve in this area because I know how important caregiver involvement is for client progress. Thanks in advance!

Had my ER, it went great and got better results than we expected. Got call from doc on Sunday and was told we would get an update on Thursday. Thursday came and went nothing. Reached out Friday via portal and got a message from nurse on behalf of doc with a partial update regarding blast.. informed us the we more information and a call today. Still no call and I’m losing my mind lowkey. What could be taking so long?

UPDATE: STILL NO CALL!!!!!!

NEW UPDATE: Finally got the call (at almost 9PM)! We have 3 blast from 11 retrieved and 9 fertilized. My anxiety is calmed and I can only be grateful.

I haven’t even completed two full years as BCBA and I’m kinda over it. I love what I do and when I first started at the company I’m with I loved it here too but now I just don’t know.
