Hello, I have a quick legal question. I tried to search online for an answer, but they had to do with money and that’s not what I’m worried curious about.
During a meeting one of my managers said that our recent overtime was mandatory, but this confused me since I’ve heard my dad say that overtime couldn’t be mandatory. When I looked online I got answers back about how employers have to pay their employees for overtime, but nothing about how if an employer can MAKE you do overtime.
So, can an employer give mandatory overtime (make you come in even if you’ve said no/couldn’t)? If so, under what conditions?
