Power Grid : Should I buy?
First time poster here.
I'm pretty new to the hobby but I've quickly grown fond of it. Wife and my friends are casual gamers, still exploring gateway games. (Catan, Carcassone, TTR, Splendor, Heat, Gizmos, Jaipur, Santorini) I have become the games guy since I like exploring, understanding and teaching games. I want to graduate to heavier games. I tried out castles of burgundy on bga and the app and enjoyed it. Bought a copy, taught it to my wife and she loves it as well.
Looking for other similar games that are a bit heavier that has depth and replayability. Wife is an energy engineer and we learnt about power grid. She wants to play it because she likes the theme and the auction and market mechanics sounds cool in theory. I usually check out new games on bga where I learn it and play a few times before deciding if I should buy it.
Unfortunately power grid is not on bga and the android app seems horrible. Part of me just wants to buy the game and try it out.
Obviously this is subjective but how is the game? Is it easy to pick up after learning the rules and playing a couple games? Also any places I can play this game on the web or mobile?
