Looking at buying this 2004 Toyota Yaris Verso 1.3 CVT automatic in Norway for about 3000 EUR. Its 500 kilometers away, so i cant see it, but i am pretty green with cars anyway. It just passed inspection (EU-control) in April 2026 and the next one isn't due until March 2028.

The car has clearly been treated with Tectyl on some structural components, which makes it hard to tell how bad the rust actually is underneath. Could be someone taking good care of the car, could be someone hiding rust.

My main concerns are the areas around the front subframe mounting points and the sill sections, some of it looks pretty rough even through the Tectyl coating.

The engine and CVT look clean with no visible leaks. The seller is honest about the condition and describes it as "an honest car with some scratches and rust as expected for the price". The seller took some pictures for me, so i am posting the worst one.

Do you think think this car would be viable and safe for two years before i scrap it?
