My rabbit is getting spayed next week, what do I need to know?
I’m taking my rabbit to get spayed next week she’s a harlequin holland lop (I got her from a breeder before I found a foster near me) She’s my first rabbit and I use an everfront enclosure for her. 12 panels so she has plenty of space. She’s great with litterbox training and has even had supervised free roaming time. I am afraid though because I’ve never had a rabbit before and have a very basic idea of what happens post spay. I set up a smaller area without places for her to jump on to for the first week after (that’s what the vet told me to do) with a temporary litterbox she doesn’t have to jump into. I also bought a ton of her favorite chews and treats to encourage her to eat post spay and have bananas stocked for her medication. Is there anything I’m missing? Should I add anything else to the list for preparation? Money is no issue here. I’m taking her out of her regular enclosure for health and safety purposes because it has a lot of stuff to jump onto that she loves. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
