A CV and story that might be of interest for MIT?
Dear all,
I am currently a law student in Germany and have just completed a bachelor's degree and will contend for the bar exam next year spring, HOWEVER -
As a child, I was equally interested in foreign languages, humanities as well as into science, engineering, and maths in particular: Some national level Olympiads, special prizes (Boring).
Then, piano: I did pre college for three years, after that, I taught myself multiple piano concertos (Rachmaninoff 2, 3, Chopin 2, Rhapsody in Blue), it's fun. (Here's a link to Rachmaninoff 2: performance of Rach2)
Frankly, I studied law because of racist experiences by both my parents and me: We are hyphenated Germans, my parent's engineering background means that they are great at analytical thinking, but clumsy at social situations. I had to translate, linguistically, culturally, in a lot of regards..
Generally, I am greatly interested in all things STEM: Engineering due to legal tech (which is already cutting jobs In the legal industry), maths because of my maths background, physics because of my fascination with space, CS not so much because of the job drought.
I write here because I think Reddit ist a sharp, but honest (mostly) platform to discuss such plans in: Do you guys think my CV is of interest for MIT admissions? Honestly, I had long abandoned STEM after starting law, but legal tech and the rapidly changing legal industry (=less jobs for people without any STEM knowledge) has taught me otherwise.
I am thinking about applying to the UK too as well as to West Coast Unis.
I am interested in undergraduate studies as well as into more policy-related programs such as an MBA, statistical sciences and so on.
Thank you.
