Hello! I'm a first time homeowner and I LOVE dimmer switches. The switch I removed was only connected to two wires (the hot and the neutral i assume) but my dimmer switch says it's recommended to connect a ground wire too. I noticed a third beige wire in the outlet that was simply connected to the other like one with a cap (not shown in the pic). But I thought ground is usually green or something? So I'm not sure what it is.

This place was built in the 70's btw.

If this wire is not a ground wire, please let me know if you think it's cool to install the dimmer switch without one. I read an article that said it could work, but I want a second opinion. Thanks so much!
