401k withdrawl to pay off credit card
Hi, I’m wondering if i should withdraw from my 401k. I make $72,000 at my full-time job and work a part-time job but it still doesn’t feel like enough. I bring home about 2200 bi monthly from my full time and between $350-$500 bi weekly from my part time job. I know withdrawing from the 401k is normally frowned upon. But working two jobs doesn’t feel like enough. I have one credit card at $5600 another at $4500 and one at $2100 the card thats $2100, I am putting towards $100 per week to knock it out, but with adding the extra money towards that card, it just leaves me strapped for cash. I know I can decrease my payments, but I’m trying to get rid of this debt as quickly as possible. I’m only making minimum payments on my other credit cards at the moment. I’m thinking of a withdrawal of about $3000 to clear the balance of the $2100 card. I feel like if I get the withdrawal from my 401(k) once I’m a bit more stable in about a month or two I can mark multiple jobs on my W-4 for tax withholding to offset the additional of what I will have to pay in taxes next year. Im a 29yr female living alone if that helps. My bills outside of the credit cards are about $2850. Thoughts?
