Fort Nairth: A Noob’s First Real Raid
I’ve only had the game for 3 days, but I’m already hooked.
I used to sink hundreds of hours into DayZ and Arma, and for years I’ve been looking for something that captures that same mix of tension, chaos, and freedom — while still being genuinely fun. This game finally scratched that itch.
A few days ago I lost everything. Full kit. NVGs. Weapons. Gone.
Since then, nighttime has basically become my worst enemy.
Yesterday I was somewhere north of Fort Nairth trying to rebuild. I had managed to scrape together some gear again when I got into a firefight right as it turned completely dark. I could barely see anything — just silhouettes moving in the distance.
Then I had the brightest idea imaginable:
“Wait… I have a flashlight.”
The second I turned it on, I got instantly headshotted.
Lesson learned now I’m back to square one, running around with nothing but a knife, trying to recover my body. After 10 minutes of searching in the dark, I still couldn’t find my gear. Frustrated, I headed down to the nearby auto shop where I’d seen some dead bodies earlier, hoping to at least scavenge something.
So
I died again.
At this point it’s around 11 PM IRL, and honestly I was tilted. So I said screw it, bought an AK-74U, and made a decision:
“If I’m going to lose my gear anyway, I’m at least going to Fort Nairth.”
I climb over the gate and immediately check the tower near the entrance.
There’s a dead guy inside and somehow… he has an SVD.
Suddenly the raid is looking a lot more promising.
Of course, if there’s a dead guy with an SVD lying there, that means someone else is probably nearby. So instead of risking it, I stash the rifle at Savanna and head back in.
That’s when things go completely insane.
Near the shooting range there’s this small guard hut with a patrol. I take one guy out and suddenly the entire area erupts into gunfire. Tracers everywhere. Flashlights cutting through the darkness.
I drop two more enemies and sprint into the barracks.
Inside, I’m basically fighting shadows. I see figures with flashlights down the hallway and dump an entire magazine toward them before diving behind cover. Room by room, floor by floor, I clear the building.
Then I find a room full of backpacks and body armor. At this point I’m feeling unstoppable.
And naturally, that’s when greed kicks in.
I clear another barracks and find an AK-15 with a red dot. Then I push through the hospital and some repair building nearby, but honestly I’m starting to think this AK is probably the best thing I’ll get tonight.
So I do what every exhausted gamer does at midnight:
I open Reddit.
I find a Fort Nairth loot guide, and according to the comments, the real loot is inside the headquarters building right in front of me.
Now, I was supposed to go to sleep. But I’m already here… so how hard could it be?
Turns out: very hard.
The second I try sneaking through the entrance, I get lit up immediately. I barely make it behind a staircase and start bandaging while bullets crack over my head. In desperation, I throw a grenade blindly into the darkness and pray.
The fight that follows lasts until sunrise.
No joke.
I burn through almost all my 5.45 ammo. At one point I’m down to my last 30 rounds and realize I can’t stay pinned behind those stairs forever. So I make the dumbest and best decision of the night:
I sprint straight at the Headquartes and through the doorway.
There’s a guy right in front of me and I unload everything into him at point-blank range. Somehow it works. I grab his ammo while hearing somebody yell “youstupidfuck” from around the corner, so naturally I throw another grenade down the hallway.
From there it turns into this slow, methodical CQB crawl through the entire HQ building.
And honestly?
It was some of the most fun I’ve had in gaming in years. Every room felt dangerous. Every footstep mattered. Every flashlight beam made my heart jump.
Eventually I realize I never picked up any keys, so half the doors are useless to me anyway. Doesn’t matter. I keep going.
Then I find a staircase leading upward. I open the rooftop door……and there are THREE guys just standing there staring at me.
Pure panic.
I fire a few shots and immediately retreat back down the stairs like the tactical genius I am.
At this point I check the clock: 12:30 AM.
I had planned to sleep hours ago.
Instead I spent the entire night fighting through Fort Nairth with random scavenged gear, surviving by pure luck and bad decisions.
And honestly?
I loved every second of it.
