Breakthrough with a brick wall
For months I’ve been trying to figure out how some of my distant maternal matches also match some of my distant paternal matches. I have Irish ancestry on both sides but from different sections and they came to the States between 80-120 years apart from each other. The matches are all 3C or 4C to me and none come up as “match both sides”. None have full trees either so I started sorting them using the Leeds charts. Last night I looked at my charts for the first time in months and noticed that 2 of them were second cousins to each other! I have since messaged them both and am working on where the paternal match fits in to my tree. Still a work in progress but I needed to share since nobody that I know in real life understands how exciting this is!
