Need Guidance on online coaching

Need Guidance on online coaching

Hi everyone,
Need some advice from people preparing for or who have cleared UPPCS.
I’m in my mid-30s, working as a software engineer in Bangalore for the last 14 years. I have a good job, so I don’t mind investing in a good online coaching if it’s actually worth it.

I gave UPSC once in 2022 without being very serious. I had gone through NCERTs (History, Geography, Polity, Economics) along with Laxmikant, Spectrum, and GC Leong. I genuinely enjoyed studying these subjects and my score was decent for a casual attempt.

The biggest thing I realized was that I hate making notes. Because of that, I couldn’t revise properly and my preparation never became consistent. This time I want a structured course with good notes, tests, and mentorship so I can focus on studying instead of figuring out resources. I got this info on reddit -

I’m considering Drishti IAS for UPPCS.
A few questions -

  1. Is Drishti good for UPPCS, or would you recommend something else?
  2. Foundation course or just the Prelims course?
  3. Hindi or English medium? I’m comfortable with both. Does either have an advantage in terms of preparation or scoring?
  4. Any advice from people who’ve prepared while working full-time?

Thanks!
