Dear Samsung Engineering and Product Development Team,
After evaluating the haptic feedback evolution in the Galaxy Ultra series, I would like to formally propose a hardware transition for the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra: moving from conventional X-axis LRA (Linear Resonant Actuators) to Thin-Film Piezoelectric Actuators.
While current LRA technology is agile, it is physically limited by its resonance frequency. To redefine the premium tactile experience, we need a solution that excels in the following areas:
Ultra-Wide Frequency Range: Unlike LRAs tuned to a single peak, these actuators can operate dynamically from 1Hz up to 300Hz. I suggest a standard baseline frequency of 130Hz to provide a much more natural and solid tactile signature.
Extreme Precision & Efficiency: This technology is significantly more precise than current LRA setups. Being much smaller, it allows Samsung to reclaim internal space to implement a larger battery and optimize hardware layout.
Durability via Protective Encapsulation: To ensure maximum shock resistance against drops or impacts, I propose housing the actuator in a specialized protective capsule (resin-encapsulated or floating-mount). This will protect the thin-film structure while maintaining high-fidelity vibration transfer to the chassis.
Ultra-Low Frequency Response: These actuators maintain high displacement at low frequencies (20Hz - 60Hz), providing a deep 'thumping' sensation rather than a high-pitched 'buzzy' vibration.
Near-Zero Latency & Active Braking: With microsecond response times and the ability to stop instantly, these actuators eliminate mechanical residue and provide a perfectly 'dry' click feel.
Implementation Strategy:
I suggest pairing these actuators with a high-voltage dedicated haptic driver within the titanium frame to ensure industry-leading durability and performance.
Let’s make the Galaxy S27 Ultra haptic experience as industry-leading as its display technology. I look forward to seeing Samsung push the boundaries of tactile innovation once again.
Best regards,
A dedicated Galaxy Power User ☺️
