When I accidentally kill an animal charmed by me, text appears that seems to give some sort of punishment like "-10% Physical", etc.

Are those punishments permanent?
Or do charmed animals give you random buffs and that text simply means you no longer gain the benefit that animal provided?

With Alpha + Whining, I often end up charming most animals around me - and killing many of them be accident (e.g. when they get charmed immediately before I kill them). Am i accumulating tons of permanent debuffs by doing so? If that's the case, then the charmed animals would be doing a LOT more harm than good...
