Sore foot, could use advice.
I checked in on my conure this morning and he is favouring one foot over the other. He doesn't seem to be in any pain and is using the foot to climb, but prefers to leave the weight off it.
He is not hostile in any way when it comes to approaching his sore foot, so I'm worried it may be some form of paralysis, although he is able to flex and use it in climbing so I'm really not sure.
At what stage should I take him to be seen at a Vet?
I am currently strapped for cash and so I want to be sure I'm not overreacting when it comes to this, but if there is any chance waiting could cause issues I'll see one today.
I would rather look stupid than risk my lil guy fall into poor health.
Update:
Thank you all for the advice.
I've booked an appointment for this afternoon to have him checked out. Even if it's nothing he is worth treating like it's something.
I'll pop in an update here with the results in case anyone in the future has a similar situation and is unsure.
Thanks again!
Update 2:
So I ended up taking him to the Vet and it looks like he's just pulled a muscle in his leg playing with his mirror.
I'm definitely glad that I went, and it is still early so it could potentially be something else, but he's on some pain meds and is chirping happily away.
Thanks again for the advice
