I improvised this music. Testing keyboards and recording 14 channels at once.

I repair my own vintage equipment. The ratio of tech time to play music time is about 10 to 1.

The piano is a 1983 Hamburg Steinway Model A, purchased used here in Texas, in 1991. I just learned that the hammers are New York Steinway style, with the resin, even though the action is definitely Renner. So it’s an odd hybrid, in that way. I’ve played quite a few American Steinways at their showrooms, none have ever grabbed me like this one does.

Set up to support a 7.2.4 surround sound system. Infinity IRS Betas in front, Kappa 9.1 rear surround, Kappa 8 surround, Kappa 7 Center channel on floor with a raised up Kappa Center for additional line array support, Kappa 6 Rear Height, Reference 4 for center height, SSW12 for stereo sub-woofer.

We had this same unit when I was a kid, pictured at 7 years old. I foolishly left it out for the trash back in 1990.

Bought one last year in the same exact style. Shocked to discover my weird jumper bypass still inside one of the speakers, and further confirmed / identified this as my literal stereo, come home mysteriously after 35 years presumed lost. Updated picture at 70 years old.

My wife still doesn’t believe it. I’m 100% sure it’s actually my old stereo. Confirmed with seller that the previous owner to him trash picked it up from my old neighborhood. They had saved it from my trash man, held it for 35 years, gave it to seller and he fixed the garrard turntable and sold it back to me for $125.
