Whirlpool wrx986sihz00 Freezer Not Working
Good Evening All,
I came home from work today and my wife told me her frozen mango has become mango puree. Considering it's 100 degrees in NJ today, I didn't see the problem. But just assuming the door was left open I started looking into it. And yes everything started to defrost in the freezer.
Going into diagnostic mode I get an 02 response for Service Test 6 - Defroster Heat/Bi-metal meaning that it is open.
I have emptied the freezer and have taken out the sliding drawer in it and I'm not seeing any ice
In the service manual it has the following note: If Bi-Metal is open, it will need to be bypassed for heater to operate. Heater should be on. Display will be blank until a valid reading is displayed.
Any ideas to do to troubleshoot? I'm not finding anything on YouTube.
