How do you minimize swing thoughts?
Currently been re-working my swing entirely for the last 3 months and finally got to driver after working with a coach for a few lessons.
I have so many swing thoughts and to execute them all almost feels like a miracle.
This is all to help me hit a draw with the driver and working to fix my previous over-the-top slicey fadey right miss.
I don’t really slice the ball anymore but now I have a two way miss with a straight push right or a hook/pull left 🫠
It seems my brain can only really process 3 thoughts at a time, so if I do two, I seem to miss or forget about the other.
- Full back swing
- Shift weight and sway hips towards target
- Start downswing straight down from the inside
- Keep head and shoulders back behind the ball and hit up
- Swing inside to out
- Keep arms straight and together (no chicken winging!)
All of this goes completely out the window when I’m actually playing on a course and my range swing is nothing like how I swing off a tee box.
It’s far from consistent, so if anyone has any tips on building consistency and minimizing swing thoughts, I’m all ears!
