How do you minimize swing thoughts?

Currently been re-working my swing entirely for the last 3 months and finally got to driver after working with a coach for a few lessons.

I have so many swing thoughts and to execute them all almost feels like a miracle.

This is all to help me hit a draw with the driver and working to fix my previous over-the-top slicey fadey right miss.

I don’t really slice the ball anymore but now I have a two way miss with a straight push right or a hook/pull left 🫠

It seems my brain can only really process 3 thoughts at a time, so if I do two, I seem to miss or forget about the other.

  1. Full back swing
  2. Shift weight and sway hips towards target
  3. Start downswing straight down from the inside
  4. Keep head and shoulders back behind the ball and hit up
  5. Swing inside to out
  6. Keep arms straight and together (no chicken winging!)

All of this goes completely out the window when I’m actually playing on a course and my range swing is nothing like how I swing off a tee box.

It’s far from consistent, so if anyone has any tips on building consistency and minimizing swing thoughts, I’m all ears!
