Some good early Jeff Beck stuff

I'd only heard about him as part of the yardbirds. Really cool how he was able to add a strangely futuristic guitar sound to some early blues. These are super fun records. I think I have some Faces and other stuff with him on it but these were a really cool find to dig into it.

pet peeve advice re: bluetooth / USB recording (possible ragebait)

not trying to start a fight here but i've been annoyed at the unanminous responses of "dont bother" when people ask about transmitting their turntable to bluetooth or recording via USB

now, i know the on-board mechanisms on these tables might not be the best but does braintrust here really think you shouldn't use bluetooth for these beginner setups? do you not listen to music from your phone or outside or in the car?

i could see if you spend thousands on your setup and then dont want any imperfections or converting the signal to digital, but let's face it, a lot of new records are pressed poorly, colored or picture discs with the label printed wrong etc. and then a lot of us are playing old beatup records that crackle and pop like crazy. is converting that to digital through bluetooth the biggest sonic blunder?

ALSO recording or listening to turntable on headphones, a lot of the sub will tell people it doesnt sound good. well what do you think your'e hearing? it's the actual signal youre listening to throug hyour speakers. i get annoyed when the advice is to get expensive speakers to fix your sound.. if you dont like how it sounds recorded or through headphones, maybe address that first!

it's also fun to listen to YOUR records recorded and easily accessible. i have 20-30 records out at any time and some i really would rather digitize and put back on the shelf than play over and over. it also is a mess to keep them organized. AND not to mention 45s.. definitely like just digitizing those and being able to listen with one click.

sorry, rant over.
