Is this normal swelling a little over 24hrs post op?

Hello, Is my face swelling normally? I had two of my bottom wisdom teeth extracted yesterday (7-3). My right side has been swollen and my cheek/jaw has felt tight, sore, and stiff. I believe my right wisdom tooth was really impacted and it was not showing unless on x-ray. The oral surgeon did not say if it was a hard extraction or if he had trouble. I remember asking when I started to come out of it and the nurse just said yeah good. How long will I experience swelling, sore, and stiffness. For context I'm a 37 almost 38 year old female, I don't smoke, vape, drink alcohol, or caffeine drinks and haven't used straws. This is my first time experiencing this I just want to make sure this is normal and it's healing properly. The surgeon prescribed me amoxicllin, hydrocodone, and medicated mouthwash. I'm taking the amoxicllin 4 times a day until Tues morning (7-7), and the mouthwash was prescribed for 6 times a day for 10 days 10 ML. Someone please give me peace of mind.

Done with surgery day0/1

Got home a few hrs ago and the surgeon prescribed me an antibiotic, mouthwash and pain killer. I got two bottoms ones out they were both impacted and right now my right side is killing me. I feel like I've been punched in the face. The right side tooth was not showing so he probably had to cut down into the gums and bone. The left was showing a little and the pain is ok for now. I will be taking hydrocodone every 5 to 6 hrs plus the antibiotic for the next several days. Has anyone felt this bad a few hrs after surgery? I took the gause out because I'm about to nap and biting down was making my jaw hurt more. I didn't think I would feel the pain so quickly and I hope it slows down soon. Surgeon did not saying anything how it went, is it normal to feel sore, and this much pain already? Thanks

So scared of getting dry socket

I'm getting my bottom wisdom teeth removed on July 3rd and both of them are impacted and I think they are on the jaw bone. I keep hearing horror stories of people getting dry socket and I'm hoping I don't get it. I don't smoke or vape and I know not use a straw and aggressively spit, but some things that I read they took all the precautions and still got dry socket. I don't know if my surgeon will give me a syringe to help, and when I'm I supposed to start using that. If not I heard doing salt water rinse and lightly swish the water around then letting it drain in the sink. I'm a 37 year female, and I know the older you get it can take longer to recover. I don't know what else to do to try to prevent dry socket. Does bending over to much cause dry socket? I've already "prepared" my meal plan for the next two weeks, and I'll be sleeping in a recliner the first few days to help with recovery. What else can I do to prevent the terrible dry socket mess?! I know I asked a lot of questions but this is the first time I'm going through this. I would like to recover in two weeks or less because I have stuff going on in the middle and end of July.

IV sedation for an impacted tooth

I wrote here yesterday and was doing some research, and saw that most oral surgeons use an IV sedation for wisdom teeth removal. I will have the bottoms ones taken out, with one partially showing and in the gum/jaw bone and the other one not showing at all. My question is can I just choose an IV sedation and not general anesthesia? I don't want to be fully under, honestly I am afraid of that. Has anyone had there wisdom teeth not showing and still use an IV sedation. Also what was the experience with the IV sedation, Are you somewhat awake and can you breathe on your own?

First time getting both bottoms out

Hello All, this is my first time posting on this thread. Im supposed to be getting my bottom wisdom teeth out on Tuesday (6-30). They said I probably have to do a consult first then see what the surgeon says. My lower left is hurting and I feel like if I'm there just do it, i have eeally bad anxiety and just want to get it over with. Plus I have stuff going on in July and I would like to enjoy and not be in pain/eating soft foods during that time. I had my top ones removed, they were already out so the dentist just pulled them right out. This will be my first time doing a oral surgery and I'm extremely nervous. For context I'm a 38 year old female that has health anxiety and I dont even want to be put under. I was thinking of just doing the local anesthesia, my lower left tooth is impacted and is pressing on the jaw bone. The other lower one is not even showing yet expect on xray. I don't even like going to the dentist ans this just enhances it for me. Can anyone give me advise on their experiences and how the recovery was? Thanks in advance ☺️
