So I've played this game quite a lot but only in ambience mode because I'm a huge coward and can not handle horror, especially horror games. But recently I decided to finally give story mode a shot and see what it's all about. I'd avoided spoilers as much as I could, the only info I had was there are alien cat girls that you leave shrimp for.
So I played through the first 8 - 9 days go almost completely uneventful. Process signals, fix servers, get codes and upgrade the base. And then it happened. I was putting 3 drives into a drive box as the doors open and I see a humanoid figure standing there with something that fell in front of it. I froze for 5 minutes IRL and didn't even try to pause the game.
It was just a mannequin with a fire extinguisher in front of it which looking back at it now and the implication of it is actually really funny, but playing the first 9 days in one sitting, not knowing ANYTHING about any entities in the game and not seeing a single form of life other than the drone that brings me resources and the emails that my coworkers send, and then out of nowhere with no warning, hearing the door only I've opened and seeing another humanoid silhouette other than my own shadow was truly terrifying, so I got even more addicted.
Currently day 30 and I can say with confidence, this game is a masterpiece. Everything is intentional or feels like it is. The way I can go in game days without anything happening and then have 4 events at once is not only horrific, but also extremely comedic.
I'm talking about the license check that happens every once in a while. I'm in a spot where I can lose access to the internet for months at a time and want to make sure the app is usable if I'm in one of those situations.
If I must have an internet connection to check the license for a FREE software, then I'm going back to PS, and I really don't wanna do that cuz Affinity is so much better. If there are workarounds to this please let me know.
I don't know if it's just me but I keep getting multiple nightmares every night to the point I end up having less stamina before I tried to sleep. I want nightmares in my save because the extra minigame is interesting to me and I like the comedic velocity I get yanked at when I wake up from one, so I don't wanna turn them off entirely, but I might at this point.
I don't know if it's a bug or if I do something that triggers nightmares constantly.
I swear I remember a song with this riff and the beginning specifically plays twice.
Is there a version of Incognito without the vocals that lead into Mannequin Love? I do like the transition but would really love a single version of Incognito that ends with a single high note.
I do have the live edit but it doesn't have the synth opening nor the keyboard breakdowns through the track so it doesn't hit as hard.
Decided to play Minecraft after a few years to experience some childhood peace after 40 days of bombing and 90 days of having no internet connection, yet politics still finds a way to fuck me.
