So... crowd surfing?

Hey guys.

Had my first Rockville today which went absolutely phenomenal! Basically perfect.

Well, almost perfect.

By some sheer luck and people pushing up during other sets, my husband and I were basically at the very front (barricade?) for The Home Team's set. They were the one band I was super excited to see so I was thrilled!

And then came the people over me which freaked me out. Did my best to help guide them along. But at the very end of the set, some guy clocked me so hard in the head during surfing that they had to neckbrace me and send to the ER for tests. (Luckily nothing broken or fractured, just super super sore.)

Is this a common phenomenon??? What's the point of it??? Is there some etiquette I don't know about? Genuinely curious to get some insight because it was very constant at certain points and I felt like it kind of took away from watching the concert; others around me also seems a bit weary of it at a certain point, too.)

TYIA!

Hey Reddit!

My husband and I are attending Saturday for our first festival ever, and I'm super excited! That being said, I'm a little nervous and have no idea what to expect. We have essentials (clear backpack, platic water bottle to refill, sunscreen, ponchos in case of Florida rain, a teeny tiny first aid kit) but I still wonder if I'm missing something. I already tend not to do well in the heat due to some medical conditions, so we'll probably back a rechargable fan as well. We pre-paid parking, so that's taken care of.

My husband also was super kinda and got us the VIP ticket too! Is there any secrets to using it to its fullest? Any other suggestions for things to bring? Thanks in advance!
