My 2023 XC40 Recharge has a mildew smell after hard rains or long spells of rain. Also, high humidity may play a part.
It has only happened a couple of times since I bought the car in April '26. I can't fathom where it is coming from. Any thoughts?
Anyone diagnosed with gout as a result of VSG?
I am almost 3 months post op. I've lost about 30 pounds since surgery, but almost 50 pounds since starting liver shrinking diet (unfortunately not my all time highest weight though).
Yesterday I went to an outdoor concert and someone snapped a picture of me in the pavilion seat and I looked horrible. Like I hadn't lost an ounce.
I know I've lost weight - my scale says so and most of my clothes are too big. Only two people have commented on my weight loss, but they were kinda' privy to notice, they happened to be part of a small number of people I told about having surgery.
I realize that I am still fat per the empirical facts. And, anyone meeting me for the first time meets the person shown in the pavilion seat picture. I have to wrap my head around that fact because until I've lost enough weight to be in "normal weight" range I'll still present as fat.
Fortunately, I'm not dissuaded from staying the course. But, my psyche is a bit bruised.
A friend of mine (5 years VSG post-op) told me that he got a card from his surgeon that he presents at restaurants to request half-portions, or items from the kid's menu. Has anyone heard of this or have such a card? To be able to order a half-portion would be ideal because a normal size serving is about 4 meals for me now. I get sick of eating it after the second or third serving and end up throwing food away.
