Is Cinemark a Liemax?

Our theater just installed an imax room. Having another imax in my area (which I also think is a liemax compared to one I saw out of state) I’ve always preferred XD. I had XD tickets for Mando on Saturday but with the imax going and adding showtimes I got one of those too for comparison this weekend.

If the movie is garbage I’ll skip my Saturday XD but after complete Star Wars burnout and avoidance for years, I really enjoyed Maul and it allowed me to finally sit with Mando season 3 this week and I’m enjoying it a bunch.

I just saw another post asking for an XD recommendation for the same movie and it was a unanimous XD. I do think XD has a clearer and brighter screen, but that one true imax I saw was huge and giant and loud. I enjoyed that too.

For those with a newly installed Cinemark imax, what can you say about it?

Of course after resetting the tv 26 times it came back but often all options in the settings bar just disappear. So I can’t change picture settings, audio output, picture off, really everything becomes unavailable when this happens. Many options become unavailable in general settings too. Sonys troubleshooting ends at restarting with the only other suggestion being a factory reseat, which again, becomes unavailable when this happens.

A reset or plug pull used to fix it quicker but now it takes about 30 minutes of constant resets until it works.

I started to notice it happening randomly and thought just leaving it on and shutting the picture down at the end of the night instead of turning off which seemed to work for a few days but there’s obviously a different trigger somewhere.

Is my tv dying? I think I’m a little over 5 years.

This used to affect inputs too in them not being available in the input bar or not opening when selected but I kept trying figure out what might be different to break it and since I changed my ps5 input away from VRR input, that hasn’t happened.
