does anyone know if there’s a rule against using your friend or family member’s discount code when buying concessions? Whether or not they purchased your ticket, not sure if it matters. I’ve used my friend’s QR for discounts only when they got me the ticket and nobody’s ever said anything, but I haven’t really dared use it in the case where I bought my own ticket.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, I did try to use the search feature to no avail!

I know about the 3 scans in an hour limit but has anyone here gotten in trouble for using someone else’s code/letting someone use their code when not physically present?

I’m just curious if anyone can tell me if the 85th anniversary of Citizen Kane has the typical 25ish minutes of trailers before screening at Cinemark?
I know AMC has a warning that it will be shown with very limited trailers

I don’t mean to offend anyone, and I’m speaking only about a situation I’m experiencing right now. My friends and I are watching the new Minions movie, and a family sitting nearby has a very strong body odor that’s making it difficult to enjoy the movie and is even giving me a headache. I know it wouldn’t be fair to judge an entire group of people based on one experience, but I’m feeling frustrated by the situation. Again, I apologize if this comes across as insensitive—I’m just trying to explain what’s happening.

It’s a shame how Cinemark treats their customers.
They need a complete overhaul in their customer service department!
I know several industry people in the Los Angeles market that has tried to go to Cinemark, but their staff are just awful and careless!

They also have a terrible customer loyalty issue for their most loyalist customers and offer a lousy large drink for your birthday, not even a free popcorn like the other chains!

They also allow people to talk and play on their phones.

Anybody else finding Cinemark going down hill?

Seems like a great deal, just figured I'd share it. Says it expires in 5 hrs, but idk how true that is.

I need Cinemark to fix their commercials. Specifically the ones advertising ordering snacks so you don’t miss the action. The guy comes in with a full drink but when he slurps it makes the sound of an empty cup. Please save my sanity

Does anyone know if, when a fire alarm happens during a movie, afterward Cinemark will resume a movie from when it left off, or do you have to sit through another screening from the beginning?

I just bought a ticket for the 85th Anniversary screening of Citizen Kane. Never seen it before but heard it’s good. Since the only new money I see coming out this week is that Minions I figured I’d watch this otherwise I’d break my streak of going to the theater at least once per week. I wish I would r found this subreddit before Monday to warn me about the Secret movie being Young Washington. The one movie I swore off seeing ended up being the movie I swore off seeing. What are y’all’s movie plans for the weekend coming up?

Yesterday (July 1) a new law took effect for open captions (on-screen subtitles) in Virginia movie theaters. This new law requires theaters with 5 or more locations in state to have regular open captions. So now every Cinemark theater in Virginia is offering limited regular open caption screenings. Some Cinemarks in Virginia already offered this even before this law was passed.

I was planning on purchasing one of the Spider-Man popcorn containers from the Cinemark Shop IF they put them up there. My question is, would I STILL be able to bring it with me TO the theater when I go to see the movie?

I'm not sure what the rules are as opposed to buying one in the theater.

Seeing 3…THREE Cinemark ads before each movie I watch AT CINEMARK is wild to me.

We’ve got the rewards program ad (what used to be the only good one in the eyyy juneya pass da mints) in the hidden temple movie club

And now we’ve got the “Cinemark isn’t just a movie theater it’s an eXpErIeNcE” with popcorn bucket guy and…checks notes…minions.

I’m tired boss. I know it’s always been a thing to advertise your own theater to the audience watching a movie in your theater (which is already funny to me) but doing it 3 times now, and couple that with just straight up advertisements for products rather than trailers. My rage knows no bounds!

Alright I feel better now. Just needed to vent.

I saw Supergirl and had DBOX seats for the first time. Didn't see heating controls anywhere.

Hey everyone. My buddy used to work at my local Cinemark, and his friends went there a few days ago. They were getting bit and they knew the current manager. They messaged him and asked if they had bed bugs, to which he responded that yes and he knew. They haven't done any treatments yet. I sent a message to their customer service. Is there anything else I can do? Kind of sucks as I was on my way last night to see Supergirl and turned around and went home. I have the paid plan, so going anywhere else sucks.

I would like to take this opportunity to complain. I’m hearing decent buzz about this film and I’ve looked for a couple of weeks now at showtimes. The only options have been ONE daily showing after 11p. Today I finally saw a showing for 745 so got super excited I was finally going to see this film. NOPE. I misread it as pm when it was actually AM! Wth! I get maybe people don’t really know this movie but maybe after obsession and backrooms maybe it could’ve gotten a little interest if it’s one showing was at a more reasonable time. So now just going to wait for streaming. But super annoyed as someone who can’t do movies that late. Dumb.
