As you can see in my drawing and the actual button assembly. The steel case g shock like frogman, gw5000u and the front light button of some g use external sliding pushers, meaning the o ring moves with the pusher shaft like a syringe.
However the resin case g shock use internal sliding pushers where the 2 o rings stay same place relative to the resin case but the shaft inside sliding against the in side of the o ring.
I have disassembled a mudman g9000 that looks like the internally sliding type.
My question is does that means the external sliding pushers provides better water resistant when used under water? As frogman buttons are designed to be pushed under water. Also the front light button on DW 9052 or DW 6900 also use same mechanism . could it be Casio expect some one wearing the dw9052 press the prominent light button under water so they purposely give it a better water resistant type of pushers?
Have been into g shocks for years, have over 20 G Shock but never tried a 6900.
Now I'm complete ....
Had the smart square dwh 5600 for a about a year and I thought the gw bx5600 would be a nice try for the positive mip display and I'm totally disappointed 😞.
The overhyped gw bx5600 is pretty much inferior to the dwh5600 in all ways:
The modern font looks off, too long vertically and the classic font looks too pixelated too fake.
The back light is abs bad in comparison to the smart square, not only much dimmer, short light duration and quite uneven.
The case construction also feels much cheaper, no carbon fiber reinforced case, just a press stamped case back, while the dwh5600 smart square has a lovely polish machined thick case back + carbon case + larger buttons( and heat rate sensors, step trackers)
My biggest problem I have the the gwbx5600 is not the mip display nor the Bluetooth. I do love them on the dw h5600 and my old gbd200 . My issue is gwbx5600 has a basic dw5600 exterior but the mip make it instantly a "smart looking watch without any smart features", which just doesn't work for me.
When I use Bluetooth on my full metal gmw b5000 I feel the fun of able to sync time one a traditional looking display digital watch and I am amused about it, but when I see the gwbx5600 i always feels like it can have better graphical interface like the smart square dwh 5600 but is just doesn't have any of those features...
Just brought it .
Decent watch but it doesn't feel as "perfect" as the full metal square gmw b5000.
The size is a bit larger than the squares
30 min walking under sun changes it from 3 bar back to 4 bar 🍺
As you can see in the image, there is a hole in the metal lugs for spring bar attachment.
The case back is still a separate piece directly screwed on the resin carbon case threads, unlike MTG where the case back has 4 screws going into the metal lugs.
Casio clearly wants to position this gravity master one tier below the MTG where the metal skeleton forms a complete cage , but a metal lug is a good approach.
