Hi! I’m pretty new to Reddit and just found out about karma 😭
I tried posting a book request in one of my favourite communities but it got removed because my karma is too low.

I’m not super active on social media, so I’m still learning how this all works—does anyone have tips on how to build karma quickly so I can join in properly?

Hi! 😊 This is ridiculously specific, but I’m hoping someone has the perfect recommendation.

I’m looking for a dark romance with a psychologically manipulative, cruel, obsessive MMC who has a significant power advantage over the FMC. The setting doesn’t matter much—high school, college, corporate, mafia, fantasy, royalty, etc.—as long as he’s in a position where people fear or obey him and there’s a clear power imbalance.

I’d love:
• A quiet, reserved FMC who doesn’t react much on the outside, but has a strong personality underneath.
• The MMC becoming fascinated with her after she unknowingly catches his attention.
• He initially treats her like a toy or source of entertainment rather than a love interest.
• Lots of psychological manipulation, humiliation, mind games, possessiveness, and emotional torment.
• The MMC encouraging or allowing others to mess with her, then becoming enraged when someone oversteps because she’s “his.”
• Extreme jealousy whenever she gives anyone else attention.
• Constant push-and-pull, sexual tension, and obsession.
• A bully who genuinely believes he isn’t in love until he’s already completely consumed by her.
• High angst, emotional intensity, and an all-consuming obsession once he finally realizes his feelings.

I’m specifically after books where the tension is almost unbearable and the MMCt slowly loses control over his own emotions and behaviour. I love stories where he keeps telling himself she’s just entertainment, only to realise far too late that he can’t stop thinking about her.

I’m okay with very dark content and morally black characters, but I’m mainly looking for the psychological obsession, manipulation, power dynamics, and emotional intensity—not just shock value.
Bonus points if the writing and character development are excellent!
