My idea was we make an offer to sign Watson to a massive offer sheet that Denver financially cannot match without shedding salary. And then Denver desperate to keep him pays us to take Christian Braun negative-value contract (5 years, $125M) or CJ off their books.
- Prioritizing John Collins resigning
- Re sign Ben Mathurin to a team friendly contract, something like 4 years $72 mil at most. Otherwise let him walk.
- Give Kawhi his extension
- Trade Brad Beal and Bogi and additional srps for Daniel Gafford. We need to improve our Center rotation it is abysmal. Gafford is a good piece alongside garland.
- Accept team option on Brook Lopez.

I’m extremely agaisnt trading Kawhi unless we get blown away by an offer. We don’t own our FRPs so we might as well stay competitive and build off what he had last year.
Genuinely we have the worst Center rotation in the NBA currently. Lopez is not startable and YKN isn’t even gonna be back till like December at the earliest. The only decent Center in free agency is Mitchell Robinson but I doubt he leaves NYK. And he also isn’t startable cause of the Hack a Shaq strategy. We legit have to deal with Wemby in the west which doesn’t help either.
Title. After watching that Spurs OKC game I genuinely don’t see how we will ever be competitive in the west given our current situation. It’s not even like the Spurs and OKC are gonna be done anytime soon They’re both still very young teams. Wemby damn near may be on a goat trajectory.
If the clippers get the 5th or 6th pick, I think setting up a package for Jalen Duren would be a good move. He is the ultimate buy low candidate and pistons are gonna be hesitant to pay him the max. Long term he is even better than Zubac.
