Cheap but great don’t understand why a $3000 one would be better.

Found a snake on the side of the road in Florida about 3 feet long really thick was run over by a car and another snake was inside its belly. You can see the tail coming out in one of the pictures. Just wondering if this is a water snake or a cottonmouth?
