The haul arrived today! I think I am going to frame the folders, the art is way too pretty to just tuck away. Noo idea what to do with the photo card bonus thingies… maybe a collage? It’s also time for a bigger shelf...

On a side note, I really wish they’d make more plushies 😭

Inspired by the 3rd photo (Beast Complex) when the Zebra matched (unknowingly) with a “cat-fish”. It made me start to think of my own IRL experiences (many moons ago lol) dealing with people’s wild one liners. Had a guys opening line once be “I hope a bear never mauls your face.” Like… same bro, but points for creativity. 😭🤣 (This was before Beastars was even a thing, but now I think back to that moment and wonder- Riz was that you?)😅

Made me ponder what the characters would put in their bios. The dichotomy between someone like Pina VS Melon tickled my funny bone, so I made those two first.

I could see Pina using a professional headshot since he is canonically a model, and Melon just uploading a freaky black square like a serial killer 🤣 (I mean… he is… but you get the point). Pina is looking for hookups pretending to look for something more serious, and Melon is pretending to just be bored and trolling… but genuinely trying to find someone who will engage with him without being disgusted or terrified (but he’d never admit to it, and I doubt he’d take it very seriously. Maybe he once did when he was younger… but got rude DMs about his face, so now it’s just a vague spooky profile)

I might make more of these later. 🤭 What would your ice-breaker be in their DMs? 🤔

The deck is gorgeous! If anyone else snagged the pre-orders they should be arriving soon. I was on the fence about buying the board but I am so stoked I did.

Take everything I’m about to say with a grain of salt, I am simply overanalyzing and having fun. :-)

Rewatching this gem and had the dawning realization that it is such a cat like quality to bring back dead “gifts” in an attempt to seek approval/praise or be a “provider” for the clan/family. Melon uses it as a form of intimidation, or it appears that way on the surface, but deep down I wonder if it’s actually the onset of the leopard qualities manifesting in real time.

He never learned how to actually bond, so in a very cat-like nature way he is like: “Here is a dead thing. Marvel at my work. Eat if you must.” Especially because the timing of this is quite peculiar… he is expecting they also caught the strippers and are about to “provide” a meal (steaks) for him, too. But it just comes across as a very unapproachable twisted: “Don’t cross me or fail, or this will be you” because it’s one of their own. But Melon doesn’t share that same lion-loyalty mindset. He killed his own mom in an act of self preservation, so no one is above being murdered. Food is food regardless of the individual, since the only “affection” he has known is life’s harsh realities/violence.

TL;DR - Melon might be confusing his own apathy towards others with his growing prey-drive and in a twisted way, he might actually be unconsciously trying to form connections, but it always just comes out as violent tendencies because he doesn’t realize the boundary lines. He is still a mentally disturbed criminal though. Don’t get me wrong. But it’s fun to consider he is also just a big dumb cat who doesn’t know how to, well… “cat” and ends up scaring everyone as a result.

You can ask anyone and they will say yes- who are you asking and what are you doing/where are you taking them? 🤔

Curious if anyone noticed this too regarding the Melon merch. His streetwear version has smaller antlers, is this like a “young” Melon? Mid/late teens or young adult? (I know in the manga he is like mid 20s, but in the anime he is in his 30s, and since this is the animation design, I am guessing this is him around Legoshi’s age?)

They are so much smaller! Not only do they not extend over the ear, but the tip of the horn hasn’t curved yet.
