How can anyone afford this??!!
So we finally got all caught up on bills and everything at the start of this year. My question is how tf can anyone afford to have an attorney even just for child support??!! I, myself, finally realized that I have good credit this year. I've NEVER had credit thanks to my ex husband being horrible with finances. This year I got approved for the biggest amount in my life. We were thinking that we'd finally be able to take the kids on a great vacation this year. Then we get hit with papers that HCBM filed for a review. My new hubby has already given up his 401k so she got a huge lump sum 3 yrs ago. We hired an attorney but it already maxed out my new credit card and the judge didn't sign off on the recent agreement. We are thinking possibly cause she's claiming her monthly income is around $1600. How? She runs her own business, so rents a building for that, and bought her a house so she has a mortgage. Wtf. We aren't even close to that. This attorney is costing us more than my own 4 kids and idek what to do or where to go from here. How can anyone afford legal representation cause at this point idk wtf we are going to do. Any advice or uplifting words are greatly appreciated.
Edit to add that we are in Texas, we have 50/50 custody, he pays child support and has been since the beginning. Plus she's very HC but claims she's over him but still talks about him like it was yesterday that they split and can't even look in my direction. It's been OVER 10 yrs. We've been together about 8 yrs but only married last year.
