Choice leads to Catastrophe

I have come across this epiphany on a night of drinking alone in my bedroom, that the fundamental human factor of choice shall lead to it's own destruction. Please excuse me if this is in the wrong subreddit.

Since the dawn of man, the concept of "free will" has been a fundamental concept, the idea that mankind can make his own choices without the interference of god or their fellow man influencing their decisions. I now see this as the fundamental flaw that will inevitably lead to the end of humanity and usher in the next generation of life.

My idea is as such. Choice leads to a difference in opinion, a difference in opinion can lead to conflict, and conflict on a major scale, can lead to devastation. Devastation that is duly deserved upon humanity because of the choices of mankind, there is war, violence, hatred, and multiple other sins made by every single human being whether it be intentional or not.

The human right of choice shall ultimately be it's undoing, be it directly or not. Since humanity is not mature enough nor it be responsible enough, to govern it's own freedom in a way that it provides a beneficiary service to all humanity, man, woman, child, and everyone in-between.

Humanity is a flawed species, and those flaws will swallow us whole instead of us being able to rise above them. As humanity is too suborn and self-centred to be able to collectively unite in a way that can benefit us all in the future.

I'm sorry if my rant is not fit for this subreddit, I have spent the night drinking alone in my childhood bedroom in my parents house, as I have not moved out in my early 20s, since the choices of mankind has made it so that a young man such as myself cannot afford to move out of his parents house since his income is too low to allow it.

In conclusion, mankind is inherently inclined towards it own destruction. Through differing morals, religion, and beliefs, conflict will always be a factor. And through conflict, hatred and bigotry shall always be a factor in how we choose to govern ourselves.

I wish I could say it has been nice to share my ideals with you, but ultimately, the number of people who read this post, let alone agree with it, doesn't really matter since the men and women in charge shall never care about those who suffer under them to lift them up into the golden prestige of power, politics, and influence.

I do appreciate anyone who has read the drunken ramblings of an influential speck such as myself. And my greatest hope is that we all find some meaning in our own meaningless lives, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but I truly believe that the meaning of life it that mankind has the right to choose it's own meaning. Even if mankind ultimately shall choose it's own destruction.

Thank you, and goodnight.

[Discussion] Does the Justice League have a nickname like the Avengers do?

Art by Alex Ross

In Marvel, the Avengers have the nickname of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes".

I'm interested in knowing if the Justice League have one as well, since in my research I can't find a single one.

It seems unlikely that a team of superheroes as impactful as the Justice League would go their entire almost seven decade long history without some grand title to call their main group of heroes.
