Looking for advice in a Domestic Violence case involving minors
Hey everyone, this is a bit of a serious situation and I’m looking for advice from people who are experts or at least aware and know more about this stuff.
So, the thing is, there’s an aunty who works for us and helps with household work. She’s from a typical Terai family with an abusive husband and inlaws. Her husband beats her almost daily as he’s alcoholic, and now he has started becoming mentally unstable.
He is also violent towards their two children, who are minors.
To keep this short, I’m looking for some NGOs or organizations that can help her escape this situation. She earns somewhat decently and can take care of herself and the kids, but she lacks a place to stay.
And about the police, without proper legal support, they pretty much do nothing, especially in cases involving poor people. They just arrest the abuser, scold him, keep him in custody for a few days, then let him go, and the cycle continues.
I need somewhere she can go where she can at least get proper advice on what to do next, because I honestly have no clue about this stuff.
