Questions for Anyone in the Campus Saint-Jean After-Degree B.Ed. Remote Program
Hi everyone! I just got an offer from the U of A for the After-degree B.Ed., Campus Saint-Jean, remote delivery! I’m so, so excited and would love to accept it as soon as possible, but I’d like to talk to someone who is currently doing or has done the program before I do, since I have a ton of questions about the logistics of it. I currently live in Ontario, and I won’t be able to relocate to Edmonton or Alberta within the next year.
For anyone who’s doing the program off-campus via remote delivery: what is the organization of courses like? Are all of them synchronous? If not, what portion of them is synchronous and what portion is asynchronous?
How are placements for practicum decided in the case of off-campus students? I would of course come to do my practicum in person in Alberta, however, it’d be easier for me to figure things out if I knew how the practicum gets assigned (is it based on students’ address on record, or is it established separately before the start of the practicum, etc.)?
What is the workload like? I’d need to combine work with studying, so it’d be great to learn more about people’s firsthand experience with that.
Do you know anyone who has been doing the program while living outside of Alberta? What was their general experience like? Outside of observations and practicum at school, is there any other time when remote-delivery students must be present on campus?
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide!
