$37 Amazon Fresh block vs 75.05 work miles – this is how you go broke delivering”

All these 2‑hour blocks are $37 with $0 tips, and for the May 19 one I drove 75.05 miles for that same $37. Using the 2026 IRS mileage rate (about 72.5¢/mile), those miles alone are worth roughly $54.41 in vehicle costs, which means I actually lost money on that block before even counting my time. Amazon Flex is looking a lot less like side income and a lot more like paying out of pocket to deliver groceries.

Amazon Flex - Fresh: $37 base, 2 hours, zero tips. Not sustainable.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of Amazon Flex — specifically the Fresh blocks. The routes keep getting longer, the pay hasn't increased and the tips? $0. Every. Single. Block.

These are all Amazon Fresh grocery deliveries — so we're talking heavy bags, cold bags, tight delivery windows, and customers who are home and watching us bring their groceries to the door… and still tipping nothing. Meanwhile the routes feel heavier and the stops further apart every week.

I don't know how anyone is making Fresh blocks work anymore. This is Houston.
