Fell for a girl I met studying abroad, but the 12-hour time difference is pulling us apart. How can I keep this going?

Hi everyone,

I need some advice on a long-distance situation.

This summer, I did a 2-week language program in the UK and fell in love with a girl from Brazil. We really hit it off, and after going home, we were chatting on WhatsApp all the time.

But because of the 12-hour time difference between Japan and Brazil, our communication has really slowed down.

I don't want to give up on her. How do you manage a major time difference and keep things going? Thanks!

About love with a Brazilian woman

I recently spent two weeks studying abroad in the UK at a spot popular with language students from all over—Spain, Mexico, Malaysia, Turkey, you name it. While I was there, I fell for a Brazilian girl at first sight and made an effort to talk to her. Surprisingly, she responded well, and we got along great. But she had to head back home after my first week, so now we’re just chatting on WhatsApp. The thing is, I feel like I'm always the one starting the conversations. Does this mean she's no longer interested? There's a 12-hour time difference, so that might be wearing her out. What do you guys think is actually going on?
