Guitar damaged after pickup swap

Hi everyone, beginner and self taught here. I took my ESP Ltd MH-17 to my luthier to swap the original pickups for a set of Stephen Carpenter signature Fishmans that I bought about a month ago. He has repaired another guitar for me in the past and did a good job, so I trusted him.

He originally told me that the starting price to convert it from passive to active would be 50 euros. After waiting 3 weeks because the guitar body had to be routed to make the pickups fit, I went to pick it up. I ended up paying 80 euros for the whole job, but he told me all he actually did was add the battery and change the jack.

When I looked at the guitar, he told me the marks left from routing the body were touched up, but it literally just looks like he used a standard black marker. I had also asked him to fix some cosmetic marks that were already on the pickups, but he ignored that completely.

To make matters worse, since getting it back, certain parts of the fretboard don't sound right at all (dead notes/buzzing). When I complained, he just told me that I need to loosen the truss rod myself.

Aesthetically, the sloppy routing job bothers me, and I'm frustrated with the playability. Is it normal to cause this kind of damage to the original finish for a pickup swap? Should I be expected to adjust the truss rod myself after paying him 80 euros for a setup and install?
