Cannabis

My son recently experienced a psychotic episode and was hospitalized. One of the doctors mentioned weed use. He did smoke weed/vape pens as well as gummies. Since home from the hospital, he doesn't smoke or vape the actual THC anymore but has been buying Delta 8s and 9s. Does anyone know if these are just as bad as full blown weed bought at a dispensary? Cannabis isnt legal in our state so he feels the 8s and 9s are ok since he can buy them here legally. Thoughts? (I asked him to ask his psychiatrist but not sure if he has yet.)

Involuntary Emergency Hold

My adult son (who lives with us) experienced what seemed like a psychotic episode a few weeks ago. He was very paranoid and talking into our Ring camera every 10 minutes. We think it was from sleep deprivation but we couldn't get him to go to sleep. He ended up pounding on the neighbor's door at 4 a.m. Well they called the cops. My husband and I, as well as the cops tried to de-escalate things to no avail. I convinced the cops to leave but 2 hours later we called back to the mental health crisis center that the cops had called and it was determined that dispatch should be called. We really didn't know what else to do. The cops ended up taking him in handcuffs to the emergency room and subsequently to a psych ward to be placed on an emergency hold. He's been home for almost a month now and he won't go outside, won't see anyone and continues to be withdrawn. He has a therapist and a psychiatrist but things don't seem to be getting any better. Is there anyone out there that has experienced this? Either themselves or a loved one? Will he get better?
