I feel like Bear represents a lot of abusive relationships. The concept of sucking someone in through manipulation and/or control and bearing (pun intended) their partner’s “erratic” behavior to convince themselves that they’re the victim and they’re just trying to help their partner when in reality they’re the reason their partner is in an uncontrollable state of mind. Then when the going gets tough and Bear realized he bit off more than he can chew, he leaves her after she’s done irreparable damage and has to live with herself.

Bear can’t say he loved her because no one would do that to someone he loved. He was just a selfish, controlling wuss.

Do we know or speculate what happens to Nikki when Freaky Nikki is in control? Is Nikki in a state where she’s conscious and can see what’s happening but has no control like what happened to the victims in Get Out or is she blacked out? I’m assuming the latter considering her reaction in the final scene but I can’t help but wonder still because the s*x scene where she’s just staring soullessly makes me think that Nikki was realizing what was happening but had no control to stop it. I’m also wondering if she made that sandwich out of anger towards Bear because she was able to get the note in it.
