The wish was specifically that Nikki would love Bear more than anyone else. So why did it feel like Bear also became emotionally bound to her?

Technically, the wish was working. Nikki was completely obsessed with him. What I don’t understand is why she started spiraling when Bear didn’t love her back, because mutual love was never part of the wish in the first place. The wish only guaranteed her feelings, not his.

Was the point that her obsession also created an unhealthy emotional dependence on being loved in return? Like the wish amplified her need for validation and reciprocity? Or am I missing another interpretation?
