The dung remaster worked because it was entirely driven by community feedback
I really wish we could see more of this "What type of remaster do you guys want to see?" methodology of deciding on which updates are most necessary for the game right now. Most of the road to restoration was mapped out before the year even began based on past feedback that might not necessarily encapsulate the current community sentiment, and many of these changes are being fully developed and released without ever being ran by the community first. It leads to a community reaction rather than a community driven approach.
Sometimes it just feels a bit like an unstoppable wave of change that we don't get to decide what happens next outside of some minor suggestions they may or may not have time for. The dungeoneering remaster had the correct balance of community feedback and developer attention and followthrough in the moment.
