New Court
Haven’t seen anyone discussing the new court expansion here. Some thoughts:
I think the new row seriously impacts the way in which the game is played with the heavy seizing bonuses. I believe that this fundamentally works significantly better with 7s in the game (4p). Playing with the new row in 3p is just not as interesting in my opinion, as seizing is quite rare in high level play. Also whisperers is so op.
Next the new vox cards are a pretty cool addition. I like the idea behind them quite a bit, but they’re a little too strong. Honestly liked some of the older concepts for them where they are more thematic changes for all players, instead of affecting everyone but who holds it.
Getting rid of the deploy 3 function from weapons cards is a huge restructuring of the game. Not sure how I feel about it but definitely shows how important the court cards are for the feel of the game.
Overall, just think they’re a little dull and make the game more simple. They kind of feel like they are trying to fix the option paralysis complaint by a lot of people by providing more resources, but sacrifice more thematically ambition-winning cards.
