Anyone else getting instant offers that get paused immediately?

Since March, I've received 3 instant contract offers on Mercor. Every time I thought I finally had consistent work lined up, the project got paused within a week.
Now I'm sitting with no work again despite being accepted into multiple projects. The most frustrating part is the cycle of getting excited about an offer, onboarding, and then seeing the project disappear almost immediately.
Is this happening to anyone else, or have I just been unlucky?

Micro1 feels like an endless interview loop with zero actual work

I honestly don’t understand how micro1 operates anymore.

I joined in April after going through what felt like an insane hiring marathon, around 40 interviews/assessments/screenings across different roles and projects. Every time it felt like I was “close,” there’d be another round, another async test, another evaluation.

Fast forward months later:

  • 2 applications stuck at “awaiting next steps”
  • 3 invites received
  • Multiple roles showing “hiring manager reviewing”
  • Still not a single real project assignment

At this point it feels less like hiring and more like a never-ending candidate pipeline.

What’s frustrating is the amount of unpaid time invested:

  • technical interviews
  • async recordings

Some of these were genuinely harder.

And the communication is incredibly vague. No timelines. No realistic expectations. No clarity on whether projects even exist or if there are just too many people sitting in the bench pool.

I’m not even saying the platform is fake, clearly some people get projects, but the ratio between interviews and actual placements feels absurd.

The worst part is you keep thinking:
“Maybe after this next round I’ll finally get staffed.”

Then nothing happens for weeks.

Anyone else stuck in this cycle with micro1? Did you eventually get a project or did you just move on?
