First of all I all players deserve events, especially those advertised on the season calendar. Players being left out because they were unlucky chosen as the control group is cruel and unfair. If they really wanted to A/B testing the builder base hammer jam, I feel the better approach would have been:

One group: 50% reduction for 1 week

Second group: 25% reduction for 2 weeks

This way all players get to experience the event, but in a slightly different way. I feel this is a better way to gauge player retention.

the current A/B test seems more to test players emotions and see if they get upset because they we chosen unfairly.
