I built a free UWinnipeg course planner because WebAdvisor was driving me up the wall
Not affiliated with the U of W, just a student. It is free, there are no ads, and your courses stay on your device unless you make an account.
It does the things I kept wanting:
- search all 2,413 courses instantly, including by topic rather than just code
- see the full prerequisite chain for a course, and what taking it unlocks
- build a timetable and catch clashes before you register
- check what you still need for your degree
- get a push alert when a seat opens in a full section
- And 20+ other features
Everything comes from the public calendar and timetable. It cannot see WebAdvisor, so always confirm there before you register.
Also, it's a PWA so, to receive notification,
on ios: in safari, click on share and then add to home screen
on android: click three dotted menu icon then "install"
Happy to hear what is wrong or missing. I am still fixing things.
