This thing put up a heck of a fight for a purple. 13 pins, 5 of which are no-touch or love taps. I haven’t gutted to see exactly. Not sure if I will gut it either since this isn’t a friendly format.
Picked it with my Multipick #4 and #5. The #13 could be good, but I still not sure if I like it (need to get a community handle to put on it). Started out tensioning with the long ends of a MP #25 and #29 stacked to get 2.3mm. Never really felt like I had a good angle on the pins.
Feedback is pretty solid, except when it isn’t. The no-touch pins on this are what made it hard. Once I got a little core rotation, left and right 3, and left 5 would lock up hard, to the point where I had trouble getting the pick out. After struggling with this for a while, I switched to a Lock Law 2mm so I could maneuver the picks under the pins to get to the right spot.
I also had a problem with oversetting the torpedo keypins, and I need to pick it again to see what I was really doing wrong. I was either pushing on pins because I misread them or was still hitting them by accident. More than likely a bad read. Just releasing tension wasn’t clearing all of them. At the end, I had to grab a second tensioner and manually rotate to drop two pins and then it opened under tension.
And as a side note, really liking the new vice + pick holder from u/lockpickersbench.
